Between Something and Nothing
Ocean Blue, The : The Ocean Blue$MTEntryExcerpt$>My friend Dave hipped me to these guys. They are a great group from the 80s that were heavily influenced by The Smiths. I was looking for lyrics to this song and I found some reviews on the Amazon website describing this as "jangle pop."[pP]>free spss 7.5
I was trying to figure out this song. The first verse and certain lines throughout make me feel like it's about someone who really admires an artist's work (words that form a phrase/ could not convey the meaning/ of what this man has done/ in a painting on a canvas). Other parts of the song sound like the singer wants to be with a girl he sees that he doesn't know. Maybe the girl is the artist's work? Ha. I don't know.[pP]>free spss 7.5
It's hard to explain the sound of the song without saying that it sounds like every other "Morissey" inspired song. It sounds like it was recorded in a cave - very atmospheric. It "speaks" the 80s.[pP]>free spss 7.5
It's a great song if you like the 80s and The Ocean Blue are a great band if you like The Smiths.[pP]>free spss 7.5
makes me think of: showing it to my friend Bryan[pP]>free spss 7.5
