Pass the Teck
Intelligent Hoodlum (Tragedy Khadafi) : Saga of a Hoodlum$MTEntryExcerpt$>(When I go back and listen to the music I listened to in high school I realize that I never actually listened to the lyrics...)[pP]>PASSWORD winrar romper
Murder raps are really boring to me. This song is murder times 10,000. If they are using the Teck as a metaphor for mic then you would definitely not want to go on afterwards at an open mic. The mic in this song is used to kill EVERYTHING. It's a gun, a dagger, a chainsaw - but oddly enough, never a tool for amplifying sound.[pP]>PASSWORD winrar romper
Seriously, I don't know if they are being metaphorical (as in the teck being a mic - obviously I don't think they are really killers) but they are definitely boisting about their skill in killing heavily. In fact, Tragedy mentions that he will kill the President. Why would you want to kill President Clinton? Didn't he go on Arsenio? He's one of the good ones! He also goes onto say that he will kill people to show us where he's coming from.[pP]>PASSWORD winrar romper
Couldn't he just tell us?![pP]>PASSWORD winrar romper
There's also a younger guy on the track but I can't tell who he is (I don't have the liner notes anymore). I think he refers to himself as the ripper but that also plays into the killing metaphor. He does mention that he dropped out of school to get his GED (anyone?). He uses "nigga" about 50,000 times. Is that a literary device?[pP]>PASSWORD winrar romper
The beat is alright - typical 90s fare. Big break, horn sample and occasional "huh" or "uh." I think Marley Marl did it - I did read on an Amazon review that there is a version that Extra P produced which would be nice to here.[pP]>PASSWORD winrar romper
The one of the main reasons to own this album is the Grand Groove remix at the end and if my iPod ever pulls this song up, I'll review it.[pP]>PASSWORD winrar romper
