about the joke..really, i knew that this is a joke..my first clue you posting this under “calmedy” category, so it must be a joke..that’s why i wrote a comment about it, i thought it was really stupid, not funny, and racist..it turns out that it’s a good one, and maybe you’re much more smarter than i thought..i’m sorry for being rude, it’s just that sometimes being rude in the internet makes no guilty feeling..

btw, just another fyi, the kanji “ryu” is supposed to be written as “ryū” or “ryuu” in alphabet..and many people, even street fighter fans don’t know that the name “ryu” and “ken” aren’t just common names..in japanese, “ryu” is the word for “japanese dragon” (ryu can also mean a school of discipline, e.g. martial art school), while “ken” can be translated as “fist” or “sword”..both word composed their techniques names shoryuken (rising dragon fist), shinryuken (dragon god fist) and shinshoryuken (true rising dragon fist)..

There’s the joke - I’m doing a character. And when you come to this site and read the entry you should be able to get that (especially when it’s categorized under the heading of comedy). If you don’t get it, then you can take a look around at the other entries to see what else is being written to get some clues that, of course I was playing a character.

I don’t even know why I’m so interested in responding to you. I think it’s because I’m tired of people in the video game world not understanding humor beyond a literal and lazy reading of the text. I’m certain the only reason why you knew it was a joke is because you read through the comments and saw my response. And, even then, I’m still not sure if you fully believe I’m joking. If you did, then why would you even write a defense of the Japanese language in your first reply?

By the way, just one more clue about the above entry written in the voice of a character (and not in my real voice) - it’s titled “Uninformed Opinion.” Do you think that if I really thought this way that I would believe my opinion was uninformed?

But, the real the problem here is that you don’t understand what the joke is. The joke is that I’m making fun of racist people by making them sound really ignorant and petty. So, your criticisms of the joke are not valid (except for the parts where you say it’s stupid and not funny - those are valid opinions to have). When you say that this entry is insulting, that is taking any of it at face value and thereby not “getting it.”

Again, it’s okay to think it’s not funny, but it’s not correct to say that it’s insulting to anyone but racist and ignorant people. And, in that case, I would agree that it’s very insulting.
